Education, Learning & Skill Development (Non-Institutional)

  • Learning goal clarity: What exact competence is targeted (knowledge, skill, judgment, behavior), and at what proficiency level.
  • Learner profile assumptions: Prior knowledge, constraints, motivation, time, cognitive load, language/culture.
  • Skill decomposition: Whether the competence is broken into subskills and prerequisite chains.
  • Instruction-to-practice ratio: Whether learning includes deliberate practice vs passive consumption.
  • Feedback quality: Specificity, timeliness, correctness, and ability to correct misconceptions.
  • Assessment validity: Do assessments measure the real skill (not proxy recall)?
  • Transfer design: How learning is bridged into the learner’s real context (workplace, life).
  • Retention & reinforcement: Spacing, retrieval practice, refresh cycles, relapse prevention.
  • Cognitive load management: Complexity pacing; scaffolding; overload prevention.
  • Motivation architecture: Intrinsic/extrinsic incentives, identity alignment, friction reduction.
  • Error model: Typical failure modes and misconceptions, and how instruction addresses them.
  • Personalization rules: How the program adapts when learners differ (pace, modality, remediation).
  • Time-to-competence realism: Is the pathway feasible, staged, and measurable.
  • Safety and ethics boundaries: Avoiding harmful skill misuse (manipulation, unsafe practices), and knowing when professional credentialing is required.
  • Outcome evidence: Evidence that learners improved in real-world performance, not just satisfaction.
